Glad you enjoy “Mystery in the Air”! It’s one of my favorite old-time radio series, too. Peter Lorre’s series, however, aired in the summer of 1947, not 1945. There were a total of 13 episodes. The first one is in the archives of the Library of Congress. The final 8 are commercially available. The others are, unfortunately, lost.

And it’s “The Marvelous Barastro”, not “The Great Barastro”.

dracula is a first class production. have not heard in years but it remains a radio classic. dont know if they still do it, but during halloween evening they would play “war of the words” fun stuff.

thank you so much for posting these!!! my 85 yr old grandfather and i have lunch dates where we eat lunch together and watch old movies. but for the past 3 months he has been saying how he misses this series. and how radio isn’t what it used to be. thank you so much! i know he will enjoy hearing these episodes once again.

Not much, except it seems to have been produced by Air Force personnel.

It’s one of my personal favorites. It doesn’t seem to have been done in the mainstream, so they didn’t use “formula” stories.
